Three Phase dry-type transformers

A dry-type transformer is a goodalternative to an oil filled transformer for indoor and outdoor industrial and commercial applications.
The advantages are:
- Very low maintenance compared to oil-filled transformers
- No fire hazard (oil spill provision not required)
- Easy installation close to the point of use, with associated savings in cables and bus-work tureduce costs nd losses.
General description
- This brochure provides information on transformers in the 25 to 630 kVA range, primary 10kV and secondary 0.4kV. For transformers larger than 630kVA capacity or other voltage ratings, contract the manufacturer.
- These transformers are designed, manufactured and tested to meet all applicable Canadian, US and European standarats for safety and performance: CSA C22.2#47, IEEE C57, UL 1562, IEC(EN) 60076-1,-2,-3
- These transformers are dry type, utilizing class 180 C insulation system and 100 C maximum temperature rise, providing ample safety margin for temporary overloads.
- The transformers are suitable for operation at 50 and 60 Hz, from -40 C to +40 C ambient temperatures, relative humidity 75%, and maximum altitude of 2000 m. Transformers for higher altitudes are also available as specials.
- The dielectric withstand is designed for 60 kV or 75 kV impulse, and 28 kV power frequency tests. The transformers are designed with a higher margin for test to be suitable for 2000 m altitude. Additional information about the tests can be found on the next page.
- The standard connection diagram is “Yyn0” for transformers 25-100 kVA range, and “Dyn11” for transformers 160 kVA and higher. Transformers with delta primaries provide a path for circulatingtriplen harmonics, which affords the user a degree of stability under unbalanced and distorted loads. Other vector connections are available for all transformers upon request.
- The efficiency of the transformers meet and exceed all CSA and UL requirements.
- The transformers are provided with primery + 5% taps with 2.5% steps, the tap changes are achieved by changing the bolted links with the transformer de-energized.
- Enclosures are available with IP00, IP21, and IP31 ratings
- Transformer construction is suitable for seismic conditions, certificates are available upon request.
Options available
- Thermal protection (thermometers or thermostats)
- Lighting arresters
